In New Zealand, more than 118 million chickens are slaughtered in factory farming systems for meat. They suffer at every stage of their short lives.
Chickens are bred to grow unnaturally large and unnaturally quickly. Fast growing chickens suffer from breathing issues, skin burns and broken bones and extreme psychological stress.
